About Me

My name is Erin and I own Blessed Assurance Doula Services. I am a mother of three and a wife of 10 years. Knowing since High School that I wanted a career in the nursing field I became a Certified Nurse Assistant right out of High School and worked in the long-term care industry for 10 years. Although I loved working with the elderly it just was not my life calling. I have always had a strong passion for pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the post-partum stages and was always drawn to the woman in this stage of their lives. I started college with the career goal of becoming a labor and deliver nurse but that got put on hold due to starting a family.  Becoming a stay a home mother and working part-time as a Medical Transcriptionist while taking online classes in child development and infant/toddler learning, I have learned, as well as experienced with my own children, how babies and young children are capable of so much learning at such a young age as well as the many factors that affect a growing fetus; from the mothers environment to her nutrition.

Being pregnant was one of the most amazing experiences and I loved every stage of the miraculous journey. I knew from then on that I wanted to make a career out of this passion and that it would be very rewarding. I love the maternity process and I love the bond that forms between a mother and a child and I love to be able to share in that and be a part of that. I count it as a blessing to share in that with my clients.

My Philosophy

There is nothing in life more exciting and incredible than the blessing of having a baby. I want to give every woman I work with the best chance possible of achieving the kind of birth she dreams about. With so many options regarding labor and delivery, it is important to be educated and supported in making wise choices and finding inner strength to stick to those decisions. I have the passion, dedication, commitment, and knowledge to give women confidence in their own abilities to birth. I will create a loving, nurturing environment for mommy, baby, and partner.

By choosing me as your doula, I will assure a space for you that is full of trust, peace, and reassurance to help ensure a positive and empowering birth.

I do not care what kind of birth you have... a homebirth, scheduled cesarean, epidural hospital birth, or if you birth alone in the woods next to baby deer.

I care that you had options, that you were supported in your choices, and that you were respected.
